For his excellent work in cancer medicine and research, Prof. Dr. Christian Reinhardt receives the German Cancer Award 2023 in the category "Experimental Research".

With his basic research in the field of DNA damage response (DDR), Christian Reinhardt has made important contributions to the understanding of various DNA repair mechanisms and cell cycle restriction points within the DDR network.

In addition, he has described a new syndrome - the UBQLN4 syndrome - and elucidated its genetics.
